ZUGERBERG BAHN

Martin Peikert created this poster for ZUG (The Town) to support the Zugerberg Railway, which takes tourists and summer high mountain hikers from Schönegg to the station above Zug. This train was well know having operated since the early 1900's., but Peikert's poster obviously was a way to promote the beauty of the views, and all the creature in the mountain meadows, including cute mountain rabbits. Peikert used the bunny in several other posters given its status as a beloved creature and in harmony with the mountains. In the valley is Lake Lucerne and other points on the Montreux- Bernese - Oberland line.
