Chic 1950's/60's Early Vintage Ski Clothing Advertisement for one of the world's best Ski Outfitters of the Era until Today: White Stag
Cited from Vintage Fashion Guild: "White Stag was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1906 as a manufacturer of tents and sails. It was originally called the Willamette Tent and Awning Company. This name was changed to Hirsch-Weiss Canvas Products and the company began making rain-proof coats and other outdoor wear.
In 1929 they developed a line of clothing for skiers, using the name White Stag. Even though skiing was a relatively new sport in the US, the brand was successful. By the late 1940s they were producing other sportswear as well. White Stag was purchased by Warnaco in 1966. The company moved out of its Portland building in the 1970s and completely left Portland in 1986. White Stag is still made today; the White Stag trademarks were bought by Walmart in 2003.
