Hawaii

Mid Century Modern / Iconic Surf Travel Poster that to this day captures Hawaii surf culture better than the rest! This poster is circa 1958 to promote Hawaii and tourism. You're not going to get surfers to the islands by showing small waves., and so this image features surfers paddeling out to the giant waves, including a native Hawaiian woman who clearly is at home in the big swells. Chas Allen was a West Coast illustrator, prolific in the 1950s and 60s. He did fantastic work for Chevrolet and also this enduring lithograph for the Hawaiian Tourist Board. This Poster does have some obvious imperfections as noted in the grading.
