GRENOBLE X Winter Olympics Grenoble France X Jeux Olympiques D'Hiver France
$575.00
The 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics became the ‘X Olympic Winter Games’ and this poster uses a bold design to excite these historic Olympics. The ‘X’ Olympics marked the first time that East and West Germany were permitted to enter competitive tournaments as separate nations, marking it a post-war event of great significance. It was also one of the first olympic winter events to be televised globally, increasing the popularity of winter sports. The graphic is very elegant and shows France’s role in promoting their tricolore of Blue, Blanc et Rouge. (Blue White Red) . The 1968 winter Olympics was a fabulous Olympics for France with a young twenty-four-year-old named Jean-Claude Killy taking gold in all three alpine events, a huge win for the Host Nation. Toni Sailer had done this in 1956 but it was not broadly televised. Fold Lines Visible / Colors Fantastic
