DSB Chemins de Fer de L'etat Danois
$2,000.00
120 Kilometers per hour in the late 1930's was a feat of magic, accomplished by the Danish State Railways and before WW2. This is an Art Deco master work promoting train travel by the Danish State Railway (DSB - Danske Statsbaner; founded 1885) to promote their speed and service. No two ways about this it's a brilliant graphic by Danish artist Aage Rasmussen (1913-1975) depicting a simple speedometer in red to electrify the audience, and emphasized by the oncoming headlight illuminating the railway tracks. This is the "French" Text version-Chemins de Fer de l'Etat Danois. Printed in Denmark by Andreasen & Lachmann. Excellent condition. Rasmussen was a Danish illustrator and poster designer and This poster is his signature work. Todays trains can attain 350 KPH, but 120 KPH 90 years ago was momentous
