Original poster by Hervé Baille a French illustrator and artist. During his career he was a member of the drawing committee of the Salon des Humoristes, and illustrated railroad and airline posters during the 1940s and 1950's.
This poster was intended to promote the French Riviera region which is located in the south of France along the Mediterranean Sea. The French Riviera is famous for its beaches and is considered a paradise for tourists.
The French National Railways commissioned this poster to attract tourism to their famous resort towns along the med in the Riviera, and entice you by showcasing bikini clad sun bathers relaxing at a posh beach resort.
